Responsibilities:
- Preparation and planning:
- Review blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout and placement of drywall panels.
- Measurement, cutting and installation of plasterboards for covering walls, ceilings and other surfaces.
- Installation:
- Attaching plasterboard to wooden or metal frames using screws, nails or glue, ensuring the boards are flat and aligned.
- Cutting openings for windows, doors and sockets as needed, with hand and power tools.
- Tape recording and mud:
- Applying joint compound (mud) to joints between drywall sheets to create smooth, seamless surfaces.
- Placing tape over the joints and applying additional layers of mud to cover the tape and smooth out imperfections.
- Grinding and finishing:
- Grinding dried mud to achieve a smooth and flat surface, using grinding tools and equipment.
- Applying a textured or decorative finish to plasterboard to client or designer specifications.
- Repairs and maintenance:
- Repairing damaged or cracked drywall, replacing parts as needed and matching textures and finishes.
- Checking the quality of the works performed and ensuring that they are in accordance with building regulations and standards.
- Cleanliness and safety:
- Maintaining a clean and organized work space, disposing of waste and waste material in an appropriate manner.
- Follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
- Communication and cooperation:
- Coordinating with other construction trades, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure proper installation and integration of drywall.
- Communicating with supervisors, contractors and clients regarding project progress, deadlines and any issues encountered.

Skills and Qualifications:
